WASHINGTON, D.C.—Jan. 24, 2013—The Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA), representing U.S. leadership in semiconductor manufacturing and design, today announced that Joe Pasetti and Dustin Todd have joined the association as government affairs directors. In their new positions, Pasetti and Todd will help advance the U.S. semiconductor industry’s key legislative and regulatory policies – including corporate tax reform, export control reform, semiconductor security and technology policy issues, and high-skilled immigration – while serving as senior representatives of the industry before Congress, the White House, and federal agencies.

“The U.S. semiconductor industry is critical to America’s economic strength, national security, and global competitiveness,” said Brian Toohey, president and CEO, Semiconductor Industry Association. “Joe Pasetti’s extensive knowledge, skills and experience will make him an ideal advocate for our industry’s key policy priorities in Washington, D.C. Pasetti has more than a decade of experience in government relations and a successful track record of working to advance technology policy. Most recently, he served as Director of Government Relations at Sharp Electronics Corporation, where he developed and executed the company’s solar policy agenda at the federal and state levels. Previously, Pasetti held positions of increasing responsibility at Applied Materials, Inc. and the Information Technology Industry Council (ITI). He has also served on the staffs of the Joint Economic Committee and Sen. Alphonse D’Amato (R-N.Y.). 

Todd has spent the last four years in the office of Rep. Paul Tonko (D-N.Y.), serving as the congressman’s chief of staff and campaign manager for the last three years. In this role, Todd directed the congressman’s policy agenda and served as his chief political advisor. Todd also helped guide Rep. Tonko’s transition to the Energy and Commerce Committee and his leadership position on the Subcommittee on Environment and the Economy. Previously, Rep. Tonko served as Ranking Member of the House Science, Space, and Technology Committee’s Subcommittee on Investigations and Oversight.
