Mike Williams is a well-regarded and highly respected strategic leader who brings 30 years of management and financial experience to SIA.

Mike has held executive positions at several multi-million dollar organizations in a variety of industries, playing an instrumental and strategic role in guiding them through periods of great transition. He was brought into the National Association of Broadcasters, Motion Picture Association of America and Recording Industry Association of America at key times in the evolution of those industries; he served as Executive Vice President specifically to help those organizations evaluate and restructure their internal operations, establish operating policies and procedures and improve communications with their membership. He was instrumental and successful in helping those organizations to restructure to address the many challenges facing their members, including shrinking markets, changing consumer behavior, and changing public perceptions and business models.

Before being recruited by the NAB and MPAA, he served for 9 years as Executive Vice President, Finance and Operations at the Recording Industry Association of America, where he was responsible for everything from operational structure, finance and accounting, market research, information technology and human resources. Mike Williams created and spun off from the RIAA, SoundExchange, a business that represents tens of thousands of artists and record companies. A CPA by training, Mike also served in a senior finance role at a major acute care hospital in Southern California, overseeing internal and external financial reporting as well as the institution’s efforts at patient focused process improvement across all departments. He began his career at Arthur Andersen & Co. and then at Ernst & Young.

Mike founded Mike Williams and Associates in 2006 to bring organizational and financial leadership and innovative thinking to businesses and industries undergoing transition and in need of bold organizational strategic realignment. Significant clients include serving as President of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Chief Executive Officer of The National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork, National Association of Broadcasters, SwapDrive, the Information Technology Industry Council, SoundExchange, Medicia, and Tomorrow’s Solutions Today.
