At SIA we are focused on keeping the U.S. semiconductor industry the global market leader. Semiconductors were invented in America and are one of the nation’s top exports and are a strategically important industry for our nation’s economic and national security.
Now the industry is facing a new set of challenges. State-sponsored competition from abroad, soaring business and capital costs in the U.S. coupled with outdated government policies and the new dynamics of international trade threaten the existence of semiconductor design and manufacturing in the U.S.
Our focus is to ensure that decision-makers in Congress and the Administration know and understand the impact of policy and regulatory changes and to advocate for policies that are favorable to the semiconductor industry.
